How to Get Likes on Your Facebook Page

How to Get Likes on Your Facebook Page

Getting an initial fan base for a Facebook page is a difficult task. If you are trying to grow your page without a strategy, you are more than likely to become discouraged & abandon your project all together. It is only after you have a bunch of users who have liked your page that you will be able to grow it virally from the content that you will be posting. I am going to cover a few strategies in this guide series to get you motivated and moving in the right direction. Your goal is to learn how to get likes on your facebook page. You need to know how to pursue this mission properly and this guide will help lay the foundation. Here begins our guide on Strategies to Get Facebook Likes: Part 1.

Strategy 1: Facebook Ads

If you do not have an established popular facebook page to cross-promote your new page you will need to begin by paying for ads. This is true especially now, since recent changes have drastically reduced Facebook’s organic reach. Don’t be discouraged here. Facebook ads are cheap, and no matter what your budget you can afford this small investment.

First, you will need to log into facebook and go to the following url:

Step 1: Create Your Campaign Objective

GM HANDBOOK Facebook Tutorial

After going to the URL you will need to select PROMOTE YOUR PAGE

Next Facebook will prompt you for which page you want to advertise for. Select the page you want and you will be directed to the Ads Campaign page.

Step 2: Target the Ads

Here you have all the tools to narrow down the audience who will receive the ad. This is the most important part of the process. So be sure to know your Facebook page’s niche well enough to know what kind of people will hit that like button. You can narrow it down by age, gender, location and much more.

Important: Be sure to have selected people not connected to your page.

Step 3: Budget Your Ad

While Facebook does have two types of budget types, I am going to recommend you go with the Lifetime Budget Feature. This way you know exactly when the Ad will terminate, and won’t end up being charged more than you want for page likes. I always choose $5.00 USD. Now the amount of likes you will get is going to vary, but it can range anywhere from around 20 likes to 100, depending on how motivating your ad is. And, of course, the more money you put into it, the more likes you will get.

Step 4: Choose an Image and Write Text for the Ad

Your profile image is automatically selected to be used as your campaign image. You can change it if you want, but you should have an image that is going to motivate someone to click the like button.

In the text box you are limited to 90 characters so use them sparingly. Be sure to mention something about liking the page.

Note: This only shows up on the News Feed, and not Right Column Ads.

Now a lot of people argue that Right Column Ads are the cheapest to run and get you the most bang for your buck. On my own pages, however, I have found this not to be the case. I usually remove right column ads. Most of my likes come from Mobile News Feeds and Desktop News Feeds. I suggest that you experiment and see for yourself.

This sums up our first strategy on how to get facebook likes. I hope you enjoyed this guide.
